Electrone Europe and Contech Electronics, have announced a partnership agreement to supply the video editing and broadcast market with a range of new products.

The distribution agreement will allow Contech access to launch a channel programme for the highly-programmable Electrone System200 Jog Shuttle control pad for use in video-editing environments. Resellers and system integrators will be able to benefit from Contech’s market expertise and ability to customise the System200’s programmable keypad to work with specific video editing software suites.

The Electrone System200’s two-line LCD display allows bi-directional communication and specific commands to be issued directly to the operator without interrupting what is displayed on any monitor.  Complex user tasks, such as queued shots during editing and live to air action information, can be displayed using the in-built display.

Mark Broadhead, Contech sales manager, comments, “Within the broadcast sector there are a huge range of users; from the one-man-band wedding videographer who edits footage at weekends to the most advanced television broadcast and film and documentary editing. However, despite a number of entry-level jog shuttle devices and high-end devices there has been nothing in between.  This middle ground solution was missing and we saw the Electrone System200 Jog Shuttle as an ideal new opportunity.”

The Electrone System200 Jog shuttle is the first product that has come out of the proactive collaboration after several months of discussions. A number of other specialist peripherals, adapted specifically for the broadcasting and video editing market, have also been developed and are due to be launched over the next quarter.
